XtremeCTII 是SCANCO Medical AG 公司推出的活体小动物定量CT(pQCT,peripheral quantitative CT)，用于四肢肢端骨密度的临床检测。XtremeCTII能够将皮质骨和松质骨区别开，分别定量骨密度，显示3D图像并进行生物力学分析。因此 XtremeCT 对诊断骨质疏松和评价骨骼强度的价值，明显优于双能X线骨密度测定法(DEXA)。研究对象多为人体四肢或动物，兼用于临床和科研。能够分别定量分析人体四肢或动物的骨小梁和骨皮质，并可对其进行生物力学分析，评估其骨强度、骨质疏松及骨折风险等。
